My name is Lucy Gardner and I am the founder of Mustard Seed PT. My story started small (at 3lbs to be precise) and yet that hasn’t stopped me achieving some crazy things that often did not seem possible. In 2005 I raced to the Magnetic North Pole! It took time, training, effort and serious determination. What it taught me was that if you want to achieve anything, you can, if you put your mind to it. I love that look of amazement when people achieve something they thought was out of reach and they realise IT IS POSSIBLE!
I have 14 years experience working in health and counselling which brings a unique element to what I am offering as a qualified Master Trainer and Massage Therapist. I have had setbacks along the way, through injury and illness and know what it is like to find your life again after these interruptions.
This is me, bringing a mix of adventure, challenge, knowledge, life experience, yet also empathy, care, commitment and dedication to the people I work with.
It is about you.
"I was apprehensive to start with a PT as i had a pre-conceived image of someone with a whistle shouting at me to run miles and miles. I was out of shape, down on myself and I couldn't walk too far without getting out of breath. So the idea of someone shouting at me scared me half to death.
From the first time I met Lucy I knew she was different. Lucy is kind, compassionate and understands that getting to my goal is not always going to be easy but was committed to helping me change. I had a few set backs over the year but Lucy kept me focused despite my auto pilot to sabotage my progress. She reminded me constantly to be kind to myself and just accept that I was human and there is no such thing as perfect.
Over the year I worked with Lucy i was taught how to live a healthy lifestyle and exercise effectively. Not to yo-yo diet and head for an exercise regime that i could not sustain. Lucy's wealth of knowledge has given me the tools to lead a healthy life and I have never felt better.
I do not feel I am on a diet nor am i missing out. She has taught me that it is ok to enjoy a wine and chocolate but has made me mindful of the portions i have.
The exercises we did together were always at a level i felt comfortable with Lucy never made me do anything I didn't want to but explained the importance of the few I was not so keen on!
This year I have lost 2 dress sizes and I am physically stronger than I have ever been. My body shape has changed and I have gained so much more confidence in my own skin. I no longer feel out of place at the gym and I am even complimented on my good form!
Lucy made it fun; we laughed all the time and I think this is what sets Lucy apart from many others. We are all human, we are all people just trying to better ourselves, we are all at different levels, we all find it hard, exercise can be tough but it doesn't have to be a chore. Lucy understands this and keeps you motivated even on the darkest days when you want to quit. Lucy will be there if you are having a wobble and will be your biggest cheerleader when you want to celebrate.
I can honestly say if you have not worked with Lucy you really are missing out on how Personal training should to be."

As each massage progressed I felt increasingly relaxed and content. Lucy has a confident, firm and reassuring technique which instilled the trust in her ability that I experienced. Lucy has a very personable and empathic manner. I felt that she will do whatever she can to fix the problem where possible. Every time I went home thoroughly relaxed with a greater sense of physical well-being than when I had arrived and noticed that following evening treatments I slept better than usual.
